Mama's Chocolate Pudding Dessert

This is the one.  This is the dessert that we all ask for when it's our birthday.  This is the dessert we look forward to on holidays.  And yes... this is the dessert that I will eat every day for breakfast when we have it in the refrigerator! This is my mama's recipe (with a couple of minor tweaks by me).  It's super easy to make and it looks pretty too!

Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/2 cup of crushed up pretzels (my mama uses crushed up walnuts which is super tasty but I didn't
have any so I had to improvise with the pretzels.  Feel free to use whichever you prefer!)
- 2 8oz tubs of Cool Whip
- 1 box of Jello chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz)
- 1 cube/package of room temperature cream cheese (8 oz)
- Heath candy bar topping (my mama shaves chocolate over the top with a veggie peeler but you can
use nuts, candy, or anything that sounds good to you!)

Pre-heat your oven to 375*

Pour your flour into a 9"x13" dish so that it evenly covers the bottom, this will be your crust.

Chop your cube of butter into small pieces and spread the chunks evenly over the top of the flour.  The butter will melt into the flour in the oven.

Sprinkle your topping of choice on top (walnuts, pretzels or whatever else sounds good to you that is similar in consistency and flavor!)

Put the crust in the oven until it turns golden brown on top.  In my oven this took about 12 minutes.  Make sure to keep an eye on it because it doesn't take long.  Let the crust cool completely before adding anything else to the top.

While the crust is baking, prepare your chocolate pudding according to the instructions on the box.

In a large mixing bowl, beat together one tub of Cool Whip and the cream cheese.

When the crust has cooled completely, spread the cream cheese/Cool Whip mixture evenly over the top using a spoon or spatula.

Spread your chocolate pudding evenly over the top of the creamy layer.

Spread the 2nd tub of Cool Whip over the top of the pudding.  You should now have 4 beautiful layers: crust, creamy, chocolate and Cool Whip!

Garnish the top of your dessert with your topping of choice (the Heath is AMAZING!) and pop in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve :)
