Marriage: Love

Back to my marriage series!

Part One: Respect
Part Two: Forgive
Part Three: Leader

This week we are focusing on love. This was directed toward my husband at the ceremony, but love clearly fits both the husband & wife role.

We should love as Christ loves.

Our pastor said -- Love your wife as Christ loves the church. That means you need to sacrificially love Tiffany, your job in life is to love this woman so much that she can't help to brag about her husband. Chris you have a unique opportunity to love your wife like no other person can on earth. Your words carry weight with them. So if you tear her down it hurts more than if someone else said those same words, also with when you encourage her with action and words! Don't neglect your responsibility to love your beautiful wife. Take this opportunity and make this your goal in life to give abundantly like Christ gives his church.

As a wife, or women, we crave that feeling of being loved. And we also love to be shown we are loved.

Ephesians 5:25 -- Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church & gave himself up for her.

Ephesians 5:28 -- In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

If you feel unloved by your husband do not be negative toward your husband, take it to the Lord. Let the Lord handle your husband because a prayerful wife is powerful.

  1. I really love this! It can be very frustrating for wives to be treated negatively by their husbands and I think it a very natural reaction to want to talk back or be disrespectful, but I love what you said, "a prayerful wife is powerful." So beautiful!
